Formed in 2021, Taär is a mysterious entity—virtually no trace of them can be found on our beloved Metal Archives, making their existence feel almost mythological.
So, what do these guys bring to the table? A ferocious storm of 90s-inspired War/Black Metal. Razor-sharp riffs cut through the mix like shrapnel, endless blast beats drive everything forward with relentless intensity, and the vocals are a throat-ripping howl straight from the abyss. With rippers like The Storm of War and At Depths of Damnation, Taär hits my nostalgic 90s nerve dead on, transporting me right back to a time when the scene felt raw, dangerous, and alive. There’s a genuine fury and aggression in the way they perform—nothing feels forced or calculated. It’s that honesty, that visceral energy, that makes their sound hit so hard.
Stylistically, their roots seem most firmly planted in the Swedish Black Metal scene of the era—think early Marduk, Setherial, or Sacramentum—but with a distinct twist that betrays their dual heritage. You can hear that cold, mountainous Swiss precision clashing beautifully with the ancient, mystical aura often found in Greek Black Metal. It’s this blend that gives Taär their own identity amidst the chaos, even while proudly worshipping at the altar of the 90s underground.
